the heart
behind the name:

The name FINLIE is a blend
of my two gorgeous children’s names, Finn and Billie, reflecting the warmth and connection that inspires my approach to design.

Whether it’s a home, a workspace, or a place of gathering, I believe every interior should evoke a
sense of comfort, purpose
and belonging.

At Finlie, we design spaces that make you want to stay longer, not just pass through. Each project is a chance to create something carefully crafted, enduring and inviting. Places that stay with you because they mean something, not just because they look good.

We specialise in residential and small‑scale commercial projects, with a focus on bespoke joinery, furniture specification and considered space planning. Through ongoing research into new surfaces and finishes, we bring a contemporary edge to designs that remain practical and enduring.

Services

Consultation

Initial Meeting where we work alongside the client to define the project brief, outlining key requirements and goals that guide the design process. The brief covers both practical needs such as required spaces, styling and overall aesthetics.

Space Planning / Schematic Design

Undertaking a site inspection to assess the existing layout, exploring alternative interior planning options, and preparing a detailed floor plan that reflects the revised functional arrangement.

Concept Design

Developing a project vision by drawing on inspirational references and clarifying the intended aesthetic. Completing a site analysis to review existing conditions and any constraints. Preparing a functional floor plan that highlights spatial layout and key design features. Producing internal elevations to help visualise the concept, and external elevations to investigate form and materiality. Establishing preliminary
lighting layouts with indicative product selections, and assembling a conceptual materials palette for both interior and exterior applications.

Design Development

Refining the floor plan to incorporate joinery, finishes, and dimensions. Preparing primary internal elevations with a focus on living and bathroom areas. Finalising external elevations to confirm overall form and key details where relevant. Developing a reflected ceiling plan that defines the lighting layout, schedule, and ceiling features. Advancing bespoke joinery design through detailed documentation. Compiling a comprehensive finishes and fixtures package. Producing a materials schedule that records all specified products, along with a fixtures, fittings, and equipment (FF&E) schedule covering joinery, sanitaryware, hardware, and other key items.
